I'm researching an article about corduroy. Everything and anything corduroy. (Germans call it Manchesterstoff—Manchester cloth—because it was invented (or so it is believed) in Manchester, England.)

I don't know what that means.

When I was a kid corduroy pants actually made a distinctive sound when you walked in them made by the fabric brushing against itself. I think these days it's made softer because I don't hear that sound anymore...
