"He's the right height," former governor says
WASHINGTON - Presidential candidate Mitt Romney ended the vice presidential pick waiting game today and picked someone around five-feet ten inches tall—according to campaign sources who said they "kind of stood near the guy"—to be his vice presidential running mate.
"I am so happy for the American people," Romney said to a crowd outside his Washington, D.C. headquarters. "This guy, he's just the right height. He's the right height in Michigan, he's the right height in Oklahoma, he's the right height everywhere he goes—and he'll be the right height in Washington. And that's what the American people want."
Romney did not provide the running mate's name.
Some critics of the choice said they'd hoped Romney would pick a woman for VP; a senior Romney aide said, "Well, we really wanted to. But all the woman who were the right height were the wrong width."
